Lamb Loin
(coming, um, sometime)
I met Brian Tanke, an aspiring filmmaker, long ago when
he crashed a company party which I was attending on the Portland waterfront. Aided
in our big-shot ideas by several glasses of wine, we decided together to discuss the
possibility of making a "music video". When we did, Brian was attracted, I
think, to the underhandedly ribald nature of the lyrics to "Lamb Loin", which I
sang to sequencer tracks when I was showing him my studio. He was kind enough to make this
video for me for the astoundingly low price of one giant stack of pizzas.
This song is based on an actual barbeque experience. The lyrics are reproduced here to
augment your video and musical enjoyment... but since the video isn't here, imagine the
following as you listen to the audio and read along: Two girls in black dresses (like a
Robert Palmer video!) swinging barbeque utensils in time to the music. A very attractive
blonde in a red dress who is perhaps a little too obsessive about lamb. A handsome man who
visits her in the kitchen. A young boy petting a sheep. An old man who can't seem to get
his barbeque lighted. Eventually, the blonde in the red dress is chewing on the old man's
ear. Fantasy or reality?!!??! You'll have to decide, although you probably won't be able
to tell specifically just from the tune:
