To get a sense of the overall flavor of the CD, try Food Scraps, a 1:45 sampler composed of short edits from 15 or so tunes off the CD. Or visit the Big Balloon New Release page to hear selected songs in their entirety. A different selection of songs can also be heard at my myspace page, where someday I may also get around to posting a blog or two. Of course, you can buy the CD at Big Balloon as well.
And now that the CD is finished and the house is painted, Im ready to dig into some new musical projects. With SSAAF, I got my hands into lots of different styles and sound palettes, I got a variety of ideas out of my head and into the open, and now Im in the mood to do something with a little more focus and development. Also, having done most of SSAAF on my own, Im eager to do some work with some of my favorite musicians and friends, which is the going strategy for the next CD. Speaking of my friends and favorite musicians, Steve Hale and James Long were very generous in contributing their singing, playing and input to this project, as were those who wrote and contributed lyrics about food, especially Christopher Goetz and Kai Esbensen. Also, John Reagan at Big Balloon was very kind about continuing to think that the project was a good idea, even as it dragged out for several years. Fountains of gratitude to these guys and to everyone else who contributed to the CD. Im getting some funny tunes out of the ICS lodge these days,
too. Heres a song called Singing in Another
Language. Check out the recipes while you are here, and be sure and sign the guestbook; we love to hear from our visitors.
