The text written for Thompson Ware has also been updated to reflect the new information.  Original text can be found on pages 28 and 29.  The following is the correct information:

Thompson and Sallie flourished in Bourbon County and had a very large family.  As he wrote in a letter to his niece back in Virginia, “we have had twelve children – eleven living and eight of them daughters.” (Ref 35E)   The first child born to them was named Catherine Todd Ware (Dec. 1799) and she went by the name of Kitty.  She married Grant Allen in 1830 after he became widowed from her sister Polly.  Kitty took care of the baby that Polly had just delivered shortly before her tragic death of childbirth complications.

A son soon joined the Ware household.  Thomas Ware was born on June 17, 1801.  He married Harriet Miller.  Thompson and Sallie then welcomed five daughters in quick succession: Cassandra (1803) who married Samuel Woodson, Sarah “Sally” (1806) who married Robert Spotswood Russell, Mary (1808) who went by the name of Polly and married Grant Allen in 1827 (She was the daughter who died so young after childbirth,) Lucy (1810) who married Henry Clay Bedford in 1829, and Davidella (1812) who married Asa Kentucky Lewis Bedford in 1834. (Ref. 950)   During the year Davidella was born, Thompson Ware served in the War of 1812 with the 71st Regiment and attained the rank of Colonel.  (Ref 968)

After all those girls, another son was born in 1814.  He was named James Thompson Ware and he also became a Colonel in the military.  James married Patsy Bedford.  When he died in 1871, James was buried in the Paris cemetery.

Four more children rounded out the family for Thompson and Sallie:  Frances (1817), who married John Hill in December 1847, an unnamed infant son born on Jan. 3, 1819 who was probably stillborn, Eliza (1822), who married William David Crockett in July 1849; and Charles William (1824), who remained a sickly child.  He eventually died at the young age of ten.  It was quite a busy household!  Sallie had delivered all those children by the age of forty-three. (Ref. 591)   Sisters Cassandra, Kitty, Davidella, Eliza, and Lucy were all married by the Reverend John Allen Gano, the husband of their cousin Catherine Conn. (Ref. 967)

#1070.  WARE BIBLE owned by James T. Ware of Centerville, Kentucky, published 1854 by the American Bible Society- provided courtesy of Debbie McArdle.

In chapter 8, the following date in red was a typing error.

One year later, in 1798, Susannah and Edmund had their last child.  He was named Edmund Jasper Ware, and he was the last of 37 grandchildren born to James and Agnes.  Sadly, they were not alive to see him.  On April 18, 1823, Edmund J. married Louisa Virginia Anderson, the daughter of Nicholas and Sarah T. (Bullock) Anderson of Todd County. (Ref 878)  They had the following children:  Sarah Jane Ware, who married Dr. Freeman Runyon; Charles William Ware (1856), who married Elizabeth V. Garth on Oct. 9, 1861

The proper date is Charles William Ware (1826)
