Biography I was born in 1960. I lived in many places as a child, principally Colorado. My musical education began at 5 on the piano. The 1st serious band I was in played country rock covers in the late 70s. Everything changed when I discovered there were other progressive rock aficionados in the world at Colorado University -- it was a nearly religious experience. I formed Now with Gary Morrell and Jon Ernst in 1981. We went through a series of drummers before discovering Barbara Crawford in 1983. Our first recording was a 33/45 single in 1985 -- "Reactions/Heaven on Earth" We recorded our 1st full length album, "Everything is Different Now" in 1986. Shortly thereafter the band relocated to the California Bay Area. In 1988 Barb decided to go back to school so Rich Dibennidetto, drummer for Gary and Jon's High School band, took the plunge and moved out to California. Our second album, "Now What," was recorded in 1989. the third album, "kNow Reason," was recorded in 1991. Now disbanded in 1992. I spent majority of the 90s musically on the computer. My interest in playing live again surfaced at about the same time I did some vocal work for Nick Peck (Episode, Ten Ton Chicken) on his "Under the Big Tree" project. I went on to play with Ten Ton Chicken for 3 years, then split amicably. I released my 1st solo project, "The Well" online in 1999. 2003 saw the release of The Gate, which included former bandmates of Now and Ten Ton Chicken. This trend is likely to continue; currently I'm working on CD 3, tentatively called "The Night", and tooling around with like-minded musicians in the basement of "the band house". |
